New school being re roofed as part of the SSB project. On the community owned Isle Martin.

We are now 6 months into our SSB heritage project. Work is on going gathering information on past island residents, thank you to Ullapool Museum for helping our volunteer researchers. Cathy Dagg has lead several island heritage walks and we hope to run further visits and a mini dig over the winter.

The “New School “ has now been re-roofed by our volunteers. This will house the micro museum we are developing as part of the project. We are now at the exciting stage of selecting stories to use in the museum. Bringing the past to life.

Do you have an island story you would like to share, photos or newspaper cuttings? We will be recording oral histories over the winter and would love to hear your tales. It's not too late to get involved, learn archaeological skills, or share your skills in art, storytelling or techie stuff. Get in touch if you would like to be part of this magical community project.
