NOTICE
The Ullapool News has received an enquiry from Lynne Shaw about making an easier-to-read version of the paper for those with visual impairments.
We are in the very early stages of exploring this and as part of our researches we would like to hear from anyone who might be interested in buying an enlarged copy, ie A3 size (instead of A4), in other words, 11 and 3/4 inches x 16 and 1/2 inches (297mm x 420mm).
This would give us an idea of the possible demand.
The standard A4 size Ullapool News would, of course, be available as usual. We anticipate that the cost to the customer of the larger version would be the same as the regular size.

TESCO RECYCLING PROJECT
Soft plastic launch
Following a successful trial in stores, Tesco now have a soft plastic collection point in front of the store, giving customers the opportunity to recycle the following:
-plastic carrier bags
-plastic food bags: bread & vegetables
-plastic film
-sweet, chocolate & biscuit wrappers & bags
-plastic food pouches: rice & pet foods & crisp packets
This forms part off our 4R’s Strategy to Remove, Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. Any materials that are not suitable for recycling will be put to waste-for-energy process (eg power stations). This will continue to support Tesco’s plan to reduce waste going to landfill, which has been in place since 2009.

The National Trust have announced that the bridge at Corrieshalloch Gorge has had to be closed due to safety reasons.
You can still walk around the forest ‘Lady Fowler’s Walk’ but there is no access to the bridge.
