Shore Street Project Update
The final piece of the legislative jigsaw fell into place with the arrival of the long-awaited Marine Licence. The pontoon contract has been awarded and the construction contract is days’ away from being signed off. Sourcing funding is on ongoing task and several fairly positive leads are being followed. The anticipated start date will be autumn 2022 with completion by spring 2023.
Inner Harbour Clear-Up
In readiness for the works the inner harbour foreshore will have to be cleared of abandoned vessels. If you own one of these vessels please get in touch with the harbour office to discuss how we can be of assistance in recovering, disposing or relocating. The plan is to have the area voluntarily cleared by the end of March 2022.

Debbie and Tom, the village beach cleaners have decided to hang up their gloves after years of painstaking, back-breaking hard work on behalf of the village. The harbour would like to say a big thank you and wish them both all the very best.

SHOE BOX APPEAL 2022
For the Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal 2022, we are doing things slightly differently. Rather than a mad rush at the tail end of the year, we plan to gather donations of items throughout the year.
Each month, donations of specific items will be sought. A collection bin will be available at the Free Church and at Artworks, West Argyle Street, Ullapool. Join with us in making a real difference to those in real need.

HISTORY SCOTLAND ONLINE LECTURE
Topic: Broch to the Future: Rebuilding the Iron Age Broch of Scotland
Description: Join Caithnessian duo Iain and Ken as they guide you through their ambitious aims to construct a broch in Scotland – for the first time in 2,000 years!
This evening talk will explore one of the most exciting experimental archaeology projects to take place anywhere in the world, a project which celebrates ancient ingenuity and pays homage to one of the pinnacles of prehistoric architecture, the monumental broch of Scotland.
A uniquely Scottish structure, these towers of power could be found across Scotland in the Iron Age; Iain and Ken will discuss in detail their flagship project, detailing the inspiration behind their ‘grand design’, as well as remarking on just how they’ve managed to captivate people across the world with their plans.
The talk will be recorded so don’t worry if you can’t make the timeslot – simply buy your ticket and you’ll be sent the recording the following day, to watch at your leisure for 7 days.
History Scotland will be making a donation to the Caithness Broch Project for every ticket sold.
