School’s Out for Summer!

UGOR JUBILEE GARDEN PARTY and SALE
This was a tremendous success last Saturday at the Garden of Reflection!
The weather was bright and breezy, the music was terrific, thanks to the amazingly talented Chailein Macleod. Thank you to all the bakers and helpers on the day. The teas and cake went down a treat.
The highlight of the day was our very own centenarian, Ann Milne, planting the tree to commemorate HRH the Queen’s Jubilee. Anne gave a beautiful speech, we were so grateful to have her there, it made the day very special.
Thank you to those who contributed raffle prizes, and to the Macphail for the use of their equipment, and all the stall holders who attended, it gave the day a real buzz.
Then of course an overwhelming thanks to all those who came and joined us, for what turned out to be a delightful afternoon. Ullapool is amazing, your generosity is second to none, the astounding amount of £1000 was raised, thank you so much.
I can’t finish without mentioning our Mosaic, which was installed in pride of place on the wall in front of the garden, you must see it if you haven’t already. It was designed and art directed by our very talented Tony Bennett and comprises of nine panels, each one completed by a member of the community (Tony Bennett, Jeanette Macrae, Lesley Butler, Eilidh MacPherson, Beth Renwick, Shona Osborne and Jenny Butler). It was a real challenge, which I think you will agree, everyone rose to.

World’s strongest brothers set to lift this year’s Inverness Highland Games
The world’s strongest brothers – the Stoltmans – will be coming to this year’s Inverness Highland Games.
Having conquered the competition in the Highlands, Scotland, Europe and the world, Tom and Luke Stoltman will be meeting fans and showcasing their sheer strength at the Games at Bught Park on July 16. It marks a world exclusive as they make the Highlands their first public appearance to show off their trophies since the recent win.
