National Trust for Scotland unveils new ‘gateway to nature’ at Corrieshalloch, the site of one of Britain’s most spectacular gorges.
New visitors facilities, new pathways and viewing points will allow more people to enjoy this beautiful location. With a focus on conserving this magnificent gorge, which was the result of glacial meltwater, and its surrounding habitats, there is a dedicated on site ranger service to engage with the visiting public.

What to look out for?
Most of the summer birds have arrived, with first cuckoo seen on April 21st. Others to note – kingfisher, hawfinch, common cranes, and flock of whimbrel at Clachtoll. a small pod of orca sighted off Achnacarnin. New items have been put onto the website www.assyntwildlife.org.uk.
Any sightings of bird carcasses – do not touch, but please report to Defra helpline on 03459 335577

The Glasgow Girls and Boys (from the Fleming Collection) is on display 29 April to 15 July at the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.

The whole Ullapool village area will be included in the 20mph limit,
so it may be time to start driving more slowly!
