Screen Machine needs Help

The Screen Machine is asking communities for our support and our help if it is to survive. The original machine had to be put out of service due to unreliability and the present screen machine is rented from the French, but the lease ends in April 2024. A replacement must be found, and the plan is to raise funds to build a new cinema at a cost of £1.4 million. This can only be achieved if the Scottish Government agrees to provide £700,000 and then the remainder would be match funded by fundraising. The Screen Machine therefore needs us all as individuals to write to the Sottish Government First Minister, local MSP or councillors to let them know why you want them to invest and save the unique institution that is such a part of the Highland community. Please take the time to help.
Visit Screen Machine online to get all the details and contacts. Act now or it could be lost for ever!

So Sunny September – Local Weather visit www.ullapoolweather.org

Weather for Tuesday 5th September – Monday 11th September
Max temp 30.4C = 87F min temp 11. 2C = 52F
What a week for the start of September! It was dry and sunny, and the temperature was above 20C. This increased through the week reaching the max of 30.4C on Thursday. It was breezy from time to time, but this didn’t take the edge of the nighttime temperatures which many struggled with.
Towards the weekend change was on the way, but Saturday was still above 21C. Every day in September up till then had been above 20C with no rain to speak of. Saturday was dull as was Sunday and some rain turned up. Monday was back to script with a dull and at times wet day.

My weather station has been on the go since 2015 and the 30.4C is a record for that time.
You can find it at www.ullapoolweather.org. It also reports to Weather Underground with ident Ullapool 005, and Met Office WOW.
The stats are out for August. Data from the Met Office
for the North of Scotland.
Mean temp +0.5C, sunshine 96% and rainfall 98%
