Distinguished Service Award Fraser Fotheringham
Well done to Fraser Fotheringham who was presented his award by Donald Macrae on behalf of Scottish Mountain Rescue.
Fraser has been in Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team since 1971 and has held just about every post you can hold in that time. He is often the go to man for the leadership team, to gain that potential extra nugget of information that you just don’t get with all our technical kit. His calm demeanour and air of confidence has helped countless team members and casualties alike in often stressful situations.
True to form, on receipt of his award, he withdrew a little book in which he’d written a few anecdotes about the “inefficiencies” of certain team members over the years, to much hilarity. There are so many stories he can tell. It’s a pleasure to know you, Fraser and on behalf of Scottish Mountain Rescue and of everyone at Dundonnell MRT, old and new, thank you for being there.
