Ullapool Harbour Trust in partnership with Transport Scotland, contractors RJ McLeod, Inland and Coastal Marine Systems and designers Wallace Stone scooped the top prize at the 2024 Annual Scottish Civil Engineering Awards.

Ullapool’s Promenade and Inner Harbour Development were awarded the Best Overall Project 2024. ….a perfect example of collaboration and teamwork with excellent community input and support.

Tall Ships Flying Dutchman and Bel Espoir visited, with Bel Espoir, built in 1944, making her maiden visit with a full crew of sail trainees en route to the Irish Sea.

Ullaspool is your community owned swimming pool run by a volunteer board of directors. We have to cover all running costs of the swimming pool including oil and electricity which are increasing rapidly. Our electricity bills are currently facing a 40% increase.
As regular pool users will be aware the sauna is currently out of use needing repairs to the heating unit and heat-resistant panels due to an unforeseen customer incident. The expected bill for repairs is £1200 and we need help to raise funds to pay for this. We are in the process of setting up a just giving page for donations – please look out for details on Facebook or next week’s Ullapool News. Alternatively, please hand in any donations to reception.
