THE ULLAPOOL NURSERIES’ PLAY HOUSE

Could Ullapool Nurseries please give a big thank you to Kevin Peach at the Ullapool harbour for donating our new play house for our garden. This has been a very long adventure of around 6 years. The harbour used their manitou to help move our old play house to our new building which, when they saw how old it was, they gifted us money for a new one.

Three years later, after Covid, we finally managed to get a new house sent to us, which Chris Di Rollo very kindly tried to build for us but did not succeed as the company sent wrong shapes and wrong parts.

After fighting with companies to get our money back we finally managed with Chris’s help to get a new one this time much better quality. Chris then enlisted the help of Craig Maddock and his Men’s Shed to help with the build of our shed. The shed was built but wasn’t quite like the shop café we had hoped for.   Just then in swept Nat Wilson who adapted doors, made shelving, sinks and chalk boards which the children absolutely love.

We are so very thankful to everyone involved.

A Year in Rotary 2024

It’s been a busy year for Rotarians in Ullapool..

Events such as Burns Supper, Golf Day, new benches outside Ullapool Museum, new cases and batteries for defibrillators around our area, car wash and Christmas collection outside Tesco.  Always raising funds !  Plus visits to other Rotary Clubs and hosting visitors to our club.

We have distributed over £4,000 to the following: Ullapool Primary Gaelic Unit, Ullapool Superkids, Haiti disaster appeal, Amy Martin for assistance with training, Creative Hands, LBFC, Ullapool Junior Golf, DofE, Assistance to Jimmy and Garry darts event, Legion Scotland for Senior Citizen’s dinner, Gairloch Aid and Mobility Support, CHAS, Macmillan, Hospice, Marie Curie, Hospital Car, Air Ambulance, Pipe Band, Santas Float, Fire and Light, Angus Glens and Blairgowrie & District Rotary Club’s Nepal Appeal.  None of which could have happened without the help of everyone who live and work in our community.

2025 will be the 30th anniversary of the Ullapool Rotary Club. A charter Dinner is being planned for 26th September at the Caley. Formal invites will be going out in the New Year but we would ask Founding and Past members to save the date.

Thanks to all who assisted and supported us in anyway this year.

If you are interested in joining us, please speak to any Rotarian.
