Local Stephen Mackenzie gets 2nd place, with a jump of 7.78m, at the European Athletics in Glasgow
And then…
In Sheffield at the British Universities and College Sport he made a brilliant first place with a record breaking jump of 7.85m.
Birmingham for the British Championships gave him a 4th place
followed by another 1st in the Scottish Championships in Glasgow.
His ranking now stands at third in the UK.

Highland Council confirmed the the 61 Ullapool/Dingwall/Inverness bus will continue to operate throughout the school holidays as timetabled by D&E

The new cruise reception building is finished and ready for use. Weather permitting this will be the Viking Vela on Monday 31st March. More work in the terminal is going on to provide leisure shower facilities and a self service laundry for visiting yachts.
Plenty of whitefish landings with fleets of lorries transporting fish to market around Europe. Shellfish landings numbered 67, with the prawn trawl sector adding to resident boats. The non fishing activity was also busy with service vessels here for fuel, stores and crew changes.

for mixing zinc and gelatine
and treating medicated grass
with beetroot made from melted glass.
Come taste, I pray, my latest dish ,
an egg paste blend of dust and fish.
Based on pre-fabricated meat
and served with mustard as a sweet.
