The second annual clean up of the Wester Ross MPA coastline.
Over 3 days 5 beach cleans were completed at Badentarbet, Port A Bhaigh, Reiff, Loch of Reiff and Polbain by a total of 31 volunteers resulting in the removal of 1102kg of rubbish.
There was lots of unusual stuff found on our beach cleans this weekend but Max from Scottish Coastal Clean Up trumped us all with his find on one of the beaches of not one, but 2 cetacean teeth ! Formally identified as being teeth from a Sperm whale.
April has been another busy month for the North West Highland Beach Clean group, as the month comes to a close 84 volunteers have completed 43 beach cleans and removed 1436 kg of rubbish. So far in 2025 4753 kg of rubbish has been removed for North West beaches which means that since forming in 2024 the group have collectively removed almost 17.5 tonnes of litter.
