Charity Concert in Inverness Cathedral with choirs from all over the UK
Inverness Cathedral will be showcasing a concert by a local choir, The People’s Show Choir Black Isle, who
will be joined by over 100 singers from 11 other People’s Show Choirs across the UK. Accompanying them will be 20 players from The People’s Orchestra.
The concert, on May 25th at 7.30pm, is part of a Highland tour organised by The People’s Show Choir and The People’s Orchestra, a charity set up in 2012 to
‘Make music, change lives’. Initially started as an orchestra in Birmingham to give amateur musicians an opportunity to play together frequently, the first choir was added in 2018, and in 2023, the first Scottish branch started on the Black Isle. There are now 20 choirs across the UK, many of whom will be singing in the Inverness Cathedral.
The Highland Tour, taking place over 4 days in May, they will perform to the general public and for a small French cruise ship
docked in Ullapool on Monday 26 May, on the harbourside.

Primary 5-7 have been working with the Geopark to investigate Gaelic placenames and the stories behind these. Also writing their own stories inspired by local places.
