1 Anglo long-liner, 3 freezer netters and 20 Scottish Trawlers with 25520 boxes of whitefish.
34 landings from visiting prawn trawlers plus our local boats meant plenty of shellfish.

Non fishing activity saw 21 aquaculture vessels for fuel and crew changes, 7 cruise ships, 2 sailing vessels, Thalassa and Spirit of Falmouth; the SEPA survey vessel Sir John Murray, MCA tug boat Ievoli, and all topped off with the arrival of the Waverley paddle steamer. Also on land activities such as the Custom and Classic motorcycle show, film nights and music and dances.

…..  reported a Beluga in the loch, several sightings confirmed by various people although it really should not have been anywhere near here.

Porpoises are active and the seals are about as usual. The Sea Eagles may be nesting, and a few more skuas and terns have returned.  The dead gannet sent away did not die of bird flu which is a relief,  but there are still others to be checked, so reporting any dead birds is important.

There is a pod of bottlenose dolphins which have returned this year and sighted on exactly the same day as last year. It is thought to be a transient pod seen around Thurso, Skye and Arran, and maybe even Norfolk.

Village Bench Projcct.  25 benches and 6 picnic tables to replace those which  are in a very poor state of repair.  Funding for these has been achieved by Welcome Ullapool .
