New Highland Youth Convenor for 2025/26
Leah McBain from Lochinver has been appointed to this role to champion the causes of young people in the Highlands.
Leah holds a degree in History and criminology from the UHI.
“Given my own rurality I hope that young people living in places where getting to school takes an hour or more will feel represented, ….
… to ensure that the young people she worked with will feel confident and supported in pursuing their own opportunities.

Loch Broom Field Club hall a very successful fungus foray at Lael Forest Garden with 67 species identified on the day, with maybe more to come. Professor Bruce Ing has been studying the fungus of this area since 1963, and has identified well over 3000 species and hopes to publish a list of these in the near future.

Ullapool High School Pupils visited National Trust property Inverewe Gardens,
Various staff members gave guided tours of different areas of the property explaining how the estate and its component parts were managed, developed and preserved.
