A832 Major Roadworks Proposal

SSEN have confirmed that no roadworks will happen on the A832 before the beginning of 2026.
The  move follows feedback from local communities in response to the company’s call for views on their initial proposals affecting a 4.7km stretch, upgrading and replacing culverts in preparation for the installation of the proposed Western Isles   HVDC cable.

Full daytime closure of this major road link will cause considerable difficulties for the local communities – there is no viable ‘bypass’ route.

Dr Katie McDougall,  died 18 September 2025.

Service will be held on 3 October at 1pm Ullapool Church of Scotland, followed by interment at Morefield Cemetery.
