Ullapool Sea Savers are hosting a free screening of Ocean with David Attenborough – a stunning and award-winning documentary showing us the wonder and vitality of the ocean, its fragility, and most importantly, our ability to protect it.
Location: Ullapool Ferry Terminal (upstairs – entry to the side) Date: 5th June – doors 6.30pm

ULLAPOOL HIGH SCHOOL JOINS OUTING TO ACHFARY
School pupils from Gairloch and Ullapool High Schools recently visited Reay Forest Estate, at Achfary, to enjoy a day out in fantastic weather learning about all the activities carried out on a modern Highland estate. Organised by Reay Forest and Countryside Learning Scotland, pupils learned why horses still play an important role alongside modern machinery, how to look after visitors staying on the estate, and the importance of looking after the environment. They also got hands-on – planting shrubs, getting stuck into soil and compost, and even sitting behind the tractor wheel.
Spanning an age range from Primary to S3, pupils found out that there are actually many more job opportunities in the rural workforce than they previously thought. The Reay Forest team cheerfully answered a wide range of questions about the equipment used and the work carried out.
