I am pleased to announce that Ullapool branch has received the newest addition to Scotland’s Mobile Bank Fleet.

We have named it ‘Davie’, after long-standing mobile branch driver Davie Irvine, and the vehicle is also the first mobile van in our fleet in the UK to be installed with a life-saving defibrillator. Davie (both of them!) will continue to visit 15 stops across the North West Highlands each week, covering just over 500 miles and I’m sure customers in our communities will be pleased to see and use our new vehicle in what is the 80th year of the mobile bank service being introduced. (The first service started in Stornoway, 5th Nov 1946).

Ullapool’s Pizzas turn crunchy!

P6-7 will be working with Oak and Grain to promote entomophagy or simply put – eating insects!

On 30 June they will be creating mini bug pizzas for people to try, alongside some insect traybakes.  They have already tried bug burgers as part of their topic on Generation Earthshot.

Come and try for yourselves, 1.15-3.15 pm,  see if they really could be the food of the future.
