This is a season of change for many, and for An Talla Solais too.

We have new horizons ahead. After September we are going to lose the use of our Gallery space at the Caledonian Hotel. Over the past few years the Hotel has been tremendously supportive of us and we are hugely thankful for their hospitality. An Talla Solais has held many fantastic exhibitions in the space, showing work by artists from around the world. It has been wonderful to host so many visitors from Ullapool, the Highlands and much farther afield.

We are very pleased that before the Gallery closes we will be able to show three major exhibitions: our 2021 Members’ Show (22nd May to 27th June), followed by paintings by James Lumsden (3rd July to 8th August), and by Susie Reade (14th August to 18th September). We had hoped to show these exhibitions in 2020 so you will recognise the patience and generosity of the artists in working with us to make the very best of the season ahead.

An Talla Solais is going to regroup back at our powerhouse on Market Street where our work will continue to be inclusive, inspiring and inventive. We are looking forward to progressing our artistic endeavours there and will look forward to keeping in touch and working with you as fresh steps are taken.

Saturday 17 April ‘Dig a Rhodie Day’ 10am – 1 pm

Help Welcome Ullapool members clear the Quay Street flower bed (by the tennis court) and take a rhodie home with you for a small donation to Welcome Ullapool Wild Flowers.

The plan is to turn the border into a small wild flower patch with the help of the Primary School, particularly as the rhodies are not thriving here.

Isle Martin Seaweed Festival: 6-12 September 2021

This postponed event is being replanned and developed in order to take place in September, events now mainly outdoors and in different locations, with self guided walks, identification activities, small group talks, demonstrations and exhibitions, plus online events too.
